Tour Itinerary & What's Included

Day 1: Lima - Paracas - Huacachina

5:30am - 6:00am

Depart Lima - We pick up directly from hostels and hotels for safety and comfort. If staying in an Airbnb just email us. Your booking confirmation (ticket) will show you your exact pick-up time (depends on where you are staying!)

6:00am - 9:40am

Luxury Bus to Paracas with semi-bed reclining leather seats. This is ideal for relaxing on the journey to Paracas. All buses have USB ports, TV’s and toilets on board. Note that other tour companies mainly use minibuses to save on costs.

10:00am - 12:00pm

INCLUDED ACTIVITY

Ballestas Islands – 2 hour boat tour of the islands. The Ballestas are a smaller version of the Galapagos, and just as great. You’ll see sea lions, penguins and lots of birds all in there natural habitat. If you’re lucky, you may even see a dolphin or three!

12:00pm

Hop on our luxury bus once again for the short trip to Huacachina Oasis. Our onboard Host will share with you some local insights and myths (they say the Oasis was formed from a mermaids tears) as well as crazy stories about life in Peru (5 of the last 6 Presidents are in jail, the other one shot himself as he was about to be arrested!). Meeting point at Hotel Residencial Los Frayles and be ready a few minutes before departure.

Pisco Vineyard Tour – see how Pisco, Peru’s national drink, is made from the grape to the bottle and try lots of free samples.

Free time for you to explore Huacachina Oasis. The weather here is always sunny and warm, so why not walk around the stunning Oasis, or go relax up in the dunes, or enjoy a Pisco Sour at a swimming pool in one of the hotels that allow our guests to enter!)

4:00pm - 6:00pm

INCLUDED ACTIVITY

Dunebuggy and sandboarding – 2 hours full of adrenaline. Ride the dune buggies up and sandboard down the biggest dunes in South America. A once in a lifetime experience in the only natural desert oasis in South America.

Important note: Peru Hop includes an exclusive extended 2 HOUR buggy tour – all other companies operate just a 1 hour tour!

6:00pm until the next day

Overnight stay in Huacachina. Enjoy some food or drinks around one of the many restaurants/bars around the oasis, or maybe join our Peru Hop Host to watch the sunset from the dunes in true Peruvian style for a moment you will never forget.

Day 2: Huacachina - Lima

Early morning

Have a nice breakfast in Huacachina to start an amazing day!

Until 7:00pm

Free time in Huacachina - relax by the pool in all year long sunshine or enjoy the stunning views atop the dunes while catching the beautiful sunset.

7:00pm - 11:45pm

You will have time for food before the bus departs and then you can sit back and relax on the semi-bed seats while you enjoy a classic movie onboard (e.g Mrs. Doubtfire / Forrest Gump) whilst our host provides you with free locally made popcorn!

Or why not go through the 100+ photos you will have taken during the day or chat with some of the people you have gotten to know during the day !

You will be dropped off your accommodation back in Lima, tired but happy after an amazing experience!

What type of travelers take this tour?

Our 2 day tour is perfect for ALL types of travelers who are looking to maximize their time in Lima and see some of the most amazing sights in Peru in a short period of time.

65% of our passengers are female, the average passenger age is 31, and we have had people as old as 83, with plenty of families too!

Please note that children under 5 or pregnant women are not permitted on the Dune Buggy’s in Huacachina.

Why is Peru Hop better than trying to do it myself?

Simply put, it is very hard to do this itinerary by yourself without Peru Hop. Public buses do NOT go to Huacachina, they only go as far as Ica, so you would have to then arrange separate transport to and from Ica. As well as this, you would also have to coordinate getting to the bus terminals and from the bus terminals on your late return to Lima.

As well as all of this, Peru Hop offers a local onboard Travel Assistant fluent in English who you will simply love (read reviews about our fun and friendly guides all over the internet!) and Peru Hop is a great way to meet people from all over the world.

Finally, when you factor in everything included in our prices, you will see we offer great value for money, something which again is often commented on by passengers after their trip!

Both Huacachina and Paracas are sunny towns. The following list of items are recommended:
